Objective: Simulate the discrete control of a pneumatic conveying system in a steel industry with a hybrid Petri net. Method: use a computer program with an object oriented design to simulate the operation of the system. Results: an abstract definition of hybrid Petri net was developed to make it easier to implement the simulation in an object oriented computer program. Conclusion: the developed software successfully allowed the analysis of the control of the industrial process to prevent deadlock and livelock situations.
