Revenue management in Business-to-Business (B2B) industrial companies faces persistent challenges due to the structural gap between bookings, backlog, and recognized revenue. While bookings represent commercial success, delayed shipments, extended order horizons, and accounting adjustments often distort revenue realization and margin performance. This chapter introduces a practical framework that integrates leading and lagging indicators to anticipate revenue gaps and optimize margins. Building on real-world experience in global industrial firms, the framework demonstrates how sales operations can move beyond static reporting and leverage scorecards to monitor backlog health, align booking patterns with revenue forecasts, and proactively manage margin leakage. The methodology draws inspiration from established continuous improvement systems, including Lean practices and the Danaher Business System (DBS®). DBS® is a registered management framework of Danaher Corporation; the present analysis does not disclose proprietary tools, but rather adapts publicly known principles of problem-solving, Kaizen, and margin-focused execution to the context of B2B revenue management. By bridging the gap between bookings and revenue, the framework offers executives and practitioners a replicable approach to strengthen forecasting accuracy, improve financial resilience, and enhance value creation in B2B environments.
