Oxidative pyrolysis of eucalyptus hardwood (HW), pruning residue (PR), and other biomass residues was investigated at the pilot plant of the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), which has a fluidized bed reactor. The reaction was carried out at 500°C and the liquid fraction produced was composed by acid extract (AE), light bio-oil (LB) and heavy bio-oil (HB) and the total fraction was 57.67 wt.%. The characterization of the raw material was carried out with elemental analysis, moisture content, ash, extractive, cellulose, hemicellulose, soluble and insoluble lignin, and calorimeter bomb. The liquid samples were opened by extraction with water and organic solvents: dichloromethane (DCM) and acetone (AC). The aqueous part was analyzed in liquid chromatography (HPLC) and the organic fraction in gas chromatography with mass spectrometer (GC/MS). The calorific value of the liquid fractions was also determined. The results demonstrate an energy gain when compared to feedstock and bio-oils. In addition, it was possible to observe that AC extraction has better efficiency than DCM.
