Due to the worldwide necessity of developing sustainable aviation fuels we study an additional porosity in ZSM-5 with ball milling for production of sustainable fuels via catalytic pyrolysis of polypropylene (PP). The activation consists in a solvent-free grinding with co-templates: hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTMABr) and tetrapropylammonium bromide (TPABr). We characterized the modified catalyst by Scanning electron microscopes (SEM),. The results showed modification inside the micropores after grind without amorphizing the material. The mechanochemistry activated ZSM-5 (MA-ZSM-5) has been applied in the fixed-bed reactor pyrolysis and exhibit a improve in the liquid yield 31% to 40% due to decrease in the gasses 62% to 52% and was more selective to BTEX’s compounds (benzene, toluene, xylene and ethylbenzene) with 94% yield also minimize the polyaromatic formation. The innovative catalyst presented in this work has a small time of synthesis and the modification inside the pore allows it to be more effective in the pyrolysis processes providing new interaction pathways between the pyrolysis vapors and the catalyst.
