Objetivo: The purpose of this research was to evaluate how different grazing sward heights (15, 25, 35 cm) change the frequency of tiller visitation, morphogenesis, structural characteristics, tillering dinamic of palisadegrass (Urochloa brizantha) managed under continuous stocking. Método: The experimental design adopted was randomized blocks with three treatments: 15, 25 and 35 cm and four replicates (paddocks) and year (2007/2008 and 2008/2009) was used as blocking factor. Resultados: The results desmonstrates that each increment of 1 cm in sward height led to an increase of 0.09 days for tiller visits, 0.18 days for phyllochron, 0.85 days for leaf life span, 0.035 for number of leaves, 4.48 mm for leaf size, 0.0030 for tillers survival. In addition, each increment 1 cm in sward height caused a decrease in leaf appearence rate by 0.0006 mm/leaf/tiller, tiller density in 74.71 tillers/m², 0.0030 in tiller mortality. Conclusão: Varying grazing sward height from 15 up to 35 cm, directly affected the frequency of tiller visitation as well as morphogenesis and structural variables of palisadegrass under continuous stocking, the height of 25 cm a indicates for handling in continuous stocking.
