CAREER PLANNING OF BRAZILIAN ARMY TEMPORARY SERVICEPEOPLE

The objective of this article was to analyze how temporary and former servicemen from the Brazilian Army in Taubaté plan or planned their careers aiming at labor market insertion. A quali-quantitaive field research was carried out and 224 soldiers in active duty were submitted to a questionnaire, also seven former soldiers were interviewed. More than half do not know nor use any type of method, tool, or instrument that assists their career planning. Former military personnel who completed higher education while at the institution currently have better jobs and those who have not regret not qualifying further. The Armed Forces, in possession of the evidence from this study, can act by creating policies that encourage career planning and the qualification of their temporary servicemen. This study is expected to contribute to the career management area, emphasizing on the career of the temporary servicemen and their preparation for the labor market.
