In this work we present a new Sol-Gel synthesis of TiO2 nanoparticles with an average size of 5 nm in diameter, which has the advantage of being simpler and faster than other routes reported on literature. TiO2 nanoparticles were deposited by spin coating on glass or Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) substrates for characterization, which was performed by X-ray diffraction, tunneling electron microscopy and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The TiO2 nanoparticles were doped with Cr in two percentages, 1% and 6%. The morphological and structural changes of the silting nanoparticles were analyzed using the above techniques. It was observed that the doping process of TiO2 nanoparticles does not significantly change the size and crystalline structure, which is seen for the band gap energy.
