This study aims at reflecting on the importance of the use of Chemistry video classes found in YouTube as tools in the teaching and learning process. Since it has been increasingly hard for teachers to call students’ attention to topics addressed in their classes, the use of new methodologies as teaching tools has been discussed in schools. Therefore, this study aimed at showing precisely how these teaching tools can contribute to transform the way Chemistry teachers teach, i. e., avoiding traditional methods and making classes more dynamic to reach their main objective, which is getting students interested in learning Chemistry. Considering that Brazil still faces a critical period as the result of the pandemic caused by the Coronavirus, this paper addresses the importance of internet and social network in everyday life, since students have attended online classes lately. The tools were found to act directly on school-age youngsters’ knowledge construction because new technologies have been part of their lives. The target group of this study was High School seniors who attended Administration and Computer Graphics at the Instituto Federal do Triângulo Mineiro, in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais (MG) state, Brazil, in 2021. Results showed that YouTube video classes clearly contribute to students’ learning and are considered active methodologies in Chemistry teaching.
